Bridging Autism Science & Community
An international forum uniting clinicians, researchers, educators, families, and community partners to advance understanding and support for autistic individuals across the lifespan.
The Advancing Autism Awareness Forum is held during World Autism Awareness Month and brings together clinicians, researchers, educators, families, and community partners from Harvard‑affiliated institutions and around the world. The forum provides a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and international collaboration focused on autism research, clinical care, education, and community engagement.
Our aim is to raise awareness, promote understanding, and celebrate the unique abilities and strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum. Through lectures, case presentations, documentary screenings, and an art exhibition, the forum highlights both scientific progress and the lived experiences of autistic individuals and their families.
A Forum Built on Four Interconnected Pillars
The forum is structured around four core dimensions—Medicine, Education, Family, and Society—reflecting the belief that meaningful support for autistic individuals must be systemic, collaborative, and long‑term.
A Collaborative Effort Across Medicine, Education, and Community
The forum is co‑created by medical centers, academic institutions, community organizations, and cross‑cultural partners committed to advancing autism understanding and support.

Building a Cross‑Border Bridge for Autism Support
In recent years, autism awareness and services in China have grown rapidly, yet gaps remain in access to timely information, coordinated care, and integrated medical‑education models. The Advancing Autism Awareness Forum is designed not only as a conference, but as a bridge—connecting clinical expertise, educational practice, and family experience across countries.
Through ongoing collaboration, bilingual content, and shared case studies, the forum aims to make high‑quality, science‑informed support more accessible to Chinese families, educators, and clinicians, while fostering mutual learning between international partners.
Future initiatives include:
- Curated Chinese‑language online content and resource library
- Regular academic and practice‑sharing between US and China teams
- Co‑developed medical‑education integration models
- Long‑term, cross‑disciplinary collaboration around autism support
